I have a Prime Plus. My understanding is the rear tail lights are LED. For the wiring entering the rear taillight housing, is it a single wire or series of wires? Is there a diagram available? Has anyone spliced into them yet?

That’s right: the New Car Features book (more info) says all the external lights on the Prius Prime use LEDs, except for the back-up lights, which use 16-watt incandescent lamps (type 921).
Yes, and the System Circuit section of the Electrical Wiring Diagram (more info) shows the three wires on the connector for each rear combination light assembly: a blue wire for the stop light, a green wire for the tail/side marker light, and a white wire with a black stripe for the common connection to body ground.
