I was reading through the manual and found the rear view mirror height can be adjusted. It doesn't say if it's for all rear view mirrors or just one of the available types. I tried, but couldn't get it to budge and I don't want to break the glass. Has anyone successfully raised or lowered the mirror? If so, how high does it go up?

IS this what you are referring to?

That's it. I can't get it to move up, and it's quite low in it's current position. And apparently it does say for which rear view mirror. lol. Good thing that's the one I have.

I have the same car but I have not needed or tried to move the mirror up & down.
    Perhaps I can check later.

I just went and tried it - yes, it does move - there is a goose-neck at each end of the joiner between the mirror and the mount:

But it makes marginal difference - if you had a short person or a tall person - they might get a bigger range of motion. But, for me - remaining the same height, it did little.

alanclarkeau, I thought it was an up/down motion, so this helps a lot. Thank you!

I got around to doing this last night, and it actually made a huge difference. I can now see when making a right, and when coming around a curve at work. Thanks again for looking at it!

Thanks, Alan! Now I'm not getting blinded by headlights behind me anymore. And yes, I need to read the manual again.

Reading the manual often doesn't help me. By the time I get to the end of that tome I've forgotten what was at the beginning! ;)

    600 pages? Really, Toyota?

I have had trouble with other car mirrors creating a blind spot when I glanced to my right. It's hard to believe a full size car could hide behind there. I finally adjusted mine and it did take some effort.
