    interestingly although they look quite large the tyre sizes are published at
    Tyres front 115/80 R 15
    Tyres rear 145/55 R 16

    perhaps this is some vindication for chosen wheel sizes for Prius
    and I guess it survives the narrow contact patch due to the 800kg weight of the car

    The wheels are small to reduce the amount of rotating mass and turbulence associated with spinning rims. They're narrow to reduce rolling resistance.
