Is it possible to get a P0A80 scan and yet have the display show full charge? The car only runs on the ICE and the hybrid batteries do not appear to be helping. What other components could cause this? Fuse? Computer(s)? Circuit Breaker(s)? Any suggestions would be appreciated. TX

Is the big red triangle lit as well?
Is the fan in back running constantly?

Yes the battery can show full green but not working properly.

Yes. In fact if you drive the car you'll probably see the state of charge gauge fluctuate wildly between 8 green bars and 1 pink bar. That is indicative the traction battery needs to be replaced as suggested by DTC P0A80.

What is the chance that Toyota will give some consideration to the facts that the car has just under 31,000 miles and is just over the 8 year warranty? If so, how do I go about it?

sounds like death from under use. there's a toyota phone number in the warranty booklet. i think there's a very good chance they will cover at least some of the cost. especially if you're the original owner with a complete service record. all the best!(y)
