I recently purchased a 02 Prius. I do all my oil changing. I know it takes 3.9 Qt of 5w 30 oil. My question is how often should it be changed? I usually change my vehicles every 3000, but the owner's manual doesn't state how often. Thanks

I use Mobile1 and go 7500 to 10,000 between changes. The Atkinson cycle engine doesn't work as hard as a normal car so synthetic oil lasts a long time.

It's very important not to overfill the Prius engine oil above the fill line. Put in 3.6Q, then check level on a flat surface (like a gas station pad). Manually top up if necessary.

Even if you only change your oil once a year, you should still check it every 3rd or 4th time you buy gas....keep on eye on the level / dirtiness.
