If the corrosion was on the surface of the bus bars directly in contact with the nuts, cleaning will help. The nuts should all torqued down to spec (48 inch-pounds) during reassembly. However, if those areas were clean, the problem may lie elsewhere.

If going the aftermarket route, I'd also look into newpriusbatteries.com.

The corrosion was on the nuts and the bars underneath. They are tidy and clean now!

I See on Rock Auto, Dorman sells the batteries packs for $2150 +$500 core. Has anyone used these? They claim some upgrades.

I suspect the upgrades are going to be like the buss bar and stuff, not the modules. I'm also assuming they are reman units and that's pretty much the price you pay for a brand new battery at a dealership*, so I don't see the point.

If I'm wrong and those are new modules then sure it seems like a fair deal.

*I'm still skeptical that you can purchase one from a dealer with no diag/install charge, but I've been told it's possible.

dorman has been poor quality up to now, idk about upgrades. if they upgraded to new cells it might be worth it, but most can get an oem in the 2k range

I bought a refurbished HV battery from the originator or the refurbishing process in spring, 2011 in Sanford NC and had a great experience. He later sold the business to Dorman, but they had some early quality control issues. I haven't heard any feedback on their HV batteries recently.

At least in California your Toyota Hybrid battery is covered under warranty for 150,000 miles or 10 years whichever comes first.
