I've recently acquired a 2005 Prius with 180,000 miles and there are things I would like to replace such as the headlights, however i can't tell if they're HID or halogen is there an easy way to tell? and what would be the recommended bulb to replace them with? I appreciate anyone who can help me with this situation.

    1. If your car does not have factory fog lights then it has halogen headlights.
    2. If you car does not have yellow high voltage warning labels on the large black plastic cover over the radiator, adjacent to the headlight assemblies (visible when the hood is open), then it has halogen headlights.
    3. If your car has HID headlights, use only name brand bulb replacements.

And be very wary of name brand counterfeits that are sold on various internet sources, even Amazon and especially eBay.
