    Sounds universal;).

    There is only 1 motorcycle I will ride and that will do 35 mph down hill with a breeze at my back:

    Just got it done last year (worked on it when I would visit my folks over the last 5 years with my old man).

    Somehow my great grandfather was able to log 29 k miles on it while in his 60’s. Given the suspension, I was impressed(y).

    Looks like he's having great fun! Definitely one for the family album, and great pedigree!

    I have a motorcycle endorsement on my NH license, I used to have a Triumph when I lived in the UK, but there one learns to ride a bike when you're about 2 or three, then graduate to a "10-speed" or "racing bike" when you're in your teens, then a motor-bike (if your parents will let you) then when you get a well-paying job, you can finally afford a car, and by the time you get your car license, you've already learned lots of "road-craft" having been on the roads since you were fairly young.

    I've noticed that on this side of The Pond, many new drivers have never ridden a motor-bike, and some cannot even ride a bicycle! I think that all drivers should start off on a motor-bike, since riding a motor-bike for six-months or a year will teach you more road-craft than any number of trips around the local shopping-mall parking-lot with Mom or Dad! In Germany, in order to get a driving license, the written test is very hard, and the practical test takes into account night-driving, and driving in bad weather! Can you just imagine the whining and windging that would generate over here in this current Age of Entitlement! :rolleyes:

    I attributed my lower top end numbers in June to the warmer weather. It looks like you're experiencing the same thing. I can see your conditioning next winter returning to the 245-250V range.

    Curious why your charger goes up and into the 360mA range?

    Not sure I've even seen one go over 351mA before.

    I do not know, perhaps @jeff652 might have the answer, but I've noticed that 362mA seems to be a favourite current.

    …and to keep this thread "on topic", I checked how the Discharge->134V was going, and after 6¾ hours, it had completed, and the "bounce" had gone back up to 192V which is more or less what I would have expected. However when I started the next LongSoakerCharge, I noticed there was much less of the flickering between 0V 0mA and the higher numbers (see my earlier notes and a video which I posted 3 years ago). @jeff652 said the flickering was to be expected, however this time (today) the display had settled down to 202V 360mA within about 5 minutes (no flickering or zeros) which I hope might be indicative of A Good Thing! ;)

    The fluctuating voltage/current only happens below 201 V, and it would take little time to go from 192 V to 200 V. So, as such, it is nothing at all to worry about.

    It sounds like your discharge went faster than you thought, it would be good to know the actual time when it reached 134 V.

    Faster charging and faster discharging is not a good sign overall, but unfortunately, it is inevitable as the battery gets older.

    As an aside, I wanted to try and get many (and accurate) data points and got very tired of having to jump every 15 min to record data. So I found an iOS app (as I had an old unused iPhone) called GorillaCamPro which I mounted to take photos every 10 min (when charging and every 5 min when discharging) and that made the whole data gathering experience a lot better. Bonus was it captured data while I slept!

    It would have been informative to have had more data points during the period where your voltage dropped to 219 V and back up again.

    Curious as to your amperage, is it a calibration error or is it truly delivering 360 mA? Mine never goes above 345 mA. Hope it is not a sign of higher internal resistance.

    Discharge to 134V: missed the moment, but checked after 6¾ hours (I'd originally planned to check after 6½ but, as they say "…the best laid plans…" :( ) Bounced to 192V, so started next long soaker.

    05:45 230V 360mA (@ ~10.5 hours)

    I'd check in after 5 hours – my last discharges took 5.25 hours to reach 84 V. :whistle:

    You're right! It's a darned sight easier than the light-bulbs (…albeit more $$).
    Another data-point:
    13:48 134V 0.22A (4h 10min) (…oh look! I think 4 hrs might be a good point to start checking for 134V :rolleyes:)

    My 134 volt discharges are right around 4 hours, so sounds about right.

    After 150 volts it’s in voltage “free fall” and moves rapidly.

    Lookin good so far though.

    Oh well, let's try a long soaker, then discharge to 17V...
    ...settling down to 198V with current bouncing around (40-350mA) pretty quickly!

    I guess I must be a slow learner o_O, and am reminded of George Santayana's famous aphorism about learning the lessons of history! :rolleyes:

    I have been reading this thread for the last few days and i had a few questions about the fans and how they are engaged during the charging process.

    So from the Prolong installation instructions, it seems as if only the intake fan is being turned on. Should both fans (intake and exhaust) be turned on at once? Also, how much current is the fan drawing when it is on high (I've read somewhere it draws 6A)? Would I be able to "turn" on the fan by simply supplying 12V 6A to each fan?

    I'm looking to get the wiring harness but using my own high voltage charger to speed up the initial charge (before long low current soak) but it looks as if I'll need to add in a decent sized 12V power supply as well to power the fan and possibly charge the 12V battery.

    I didn't want you to feel ignored but I must explain I am nowhere knowledgeable enough to answer your question. I'm just a user of the system who had someone else install the harness and I'm not mechanically inclined when it comes to cars, electricity, etc. Hopefully someone else who is much more into it can help you out.

    You can also contact Hybrid Automotive directly. Jeff and his staff are wonderful and they'll answer you honestly. They get customer service right, recognizing that everyone who contacts them is either already a customer or a potential one.
