Red Alert , VSC light Back on

    Hello Everyone,

    I have another issue with my Prius 2006 . I had red alert, and VCS light on I did change the battery cells, and it drove well for week and the red triangle, VSC light came back on and while driving the vehicle it still drive. but once I parked and turned off and try turn it on won't drive so I have to reset the 12V battery to get it drive. also I had to replace the 12 v battery to new one. is anyone please can help me with this issue I'll be appreciated.

    After swapping the modules, did you also balance or cycle the HV battery by using a 'grid charger' setup?

    Do you have any OBD2 codes that you could be post?

    The first time the lights came on, were any trouble codes read, to see if the lights had anything to do with the battery?

    From the current behavior, pencil my guess in for P0AA6, maybe connected to the work done on the battery—but I'd rather wait for actual codes to be read.

    it said Hybrid battery installation error . That what the mechanic said .

    I didn’t do anything just low voltage cell was reading 6.4 switched with 7.46v and all the rest of the cells mostly about 7.4.

    Retrieve and post the OBD2 codes by using a toyota hybrid compatible scanner, many will use a 'mini-vci cable" and techstream on a winblows device (you can also emulate), others might use an OBD2 bluetooth adapter and an appropriate app for basic code reading.
    Which device did you purchase?

    There are threads that discuss the process, be it reading OBD2 codes, or reconditioning by using a 'grid charger' (DIY setup or retail).
    Yes, which was also my first WAG. If the modules are leaking before or after the swap, this could be one of many items to address.
    Did you confirm the HV safety latch (orange plug) was installed correctly?

    That was a joke, as the vehicle wouldn't 'ready' without it being installed correctly, regardless of whether the 12v was reset or not. But it gives you an idea of why you need to know the actual OBD2 codes (DTCs), and not the words - "Hybrid battery installation error".

    I have no idea it was working for 2 years great since I bought it . When the red rectangle on I had to go to check for mechanic and that what he told me . He said you might have some bad cells in your hybrid battery need to be replace or buy another battery.

    Do you think the inverter cooling pump could cause the issue . I was doing research but I am not sure it that could cause the issue . I understand you need to know codes so we get better information what exactly the problem . I really appreciated your helping . I keep you updated thank you so much.

    Unlikely. Have you already checked for pump vibration (pencil/stick/rod/finger), and coolant movement on the reservoir liquid surface?
    Though you don't know the OBD2 codes (or associated INFs) reported, we can assume that one may be DTC P0AA6.

    If you can't feel the pump working, and the liquid is "still" when the vehicle is ON or ready, then the pump may be failing, and this will throw an OBD2 code P0A93. Scan the vehicle and see what codes are returned, and you may need to use a hybrid compatible scanner.

    When was the last time the pump was replaced (the total miles driven since replacement), as they don't last forever.
