I need some help with my 2006 Prius that won't start anymore. It has 61k miles on it. When trying to start, it shows "There is a problem with the transmission lock mechanism." Many have suggested a 12v battery replacement and that did not work for me. All cells in the hybrid battery are sufficient voltage as well. The red triangle was turned on by the dealer when they did some "rerouting of wiring" to the front struts. The last time the car turned on, the hybrid battery was not recharging from braking or the ICE. Any suggestions to help this sad lil car?

All I can suggest is to read the trouble codes from the transmission control ECU (and any others that may be reporting codes), look those up in the repair manual, follow to the linked pages with the steps for troubleshooting and repair, and do those. It works amazingly often.

They should, but they're 100% convinced it's a bad hybrid battery... which it's not, but they're not very friendly nor knowledgeable there.

Did you take it to a Toyota dealer??!! I think I'd be in touch with corporate. AND going to a dealer who might know what they are doing. I had to do that with an air conditioner many years ago. Every two weeks, the car vented its freon into the cabin, even after five times in the shop.
