I am getting the infamous red triangle with exclamation point when I turn. Not all the time, but more commonly with a hard turn. My mechanic is stumped. No codes are returned. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

    Thank you

I had that with my old gen 2 Prius, in the last few years I owned it. It also happened intermittently when I decelerated. I thought it was something in the drive train, but I never found out, because by then I was ready to get a new Prius.

Any red TOD should throw a code. Techstream should be able to find that in a history, I would think.

Using Techstream the mechanic should be able to look at the live data and see what the issue is even if there aren't any codes.

But have you checked the oil level?
Often hard braking or sharp turns slosh oil around. So if it is low the light comes on.

Low oil is my guess too. How could a mechanic not check the oil level?

The low oil light would show up on the MFD, not the dash. Could you be so busy looking at the red Triangle you miss the MFD light?
