Anyone else getting really poor range using the key fob to lock their Prime? Like sometimes I need to be like 5 feet from the car to get it to lock. I’m not sure if it’s an interference issue, but I’ve had it in multiple places, and if I forget to hit my button when I’m walking away, I may as well walk back and hit the touch sensor I have to get so close.

Swapped out the battery. Just to check. It’s brand new. Only has 2k on it.

You need to eliminate all the obvious stuff. That would be a good place to start.

Hold it to your head and you’ll get better range. I saw that on top gear.

I tried that. Looked like an idiot, and it still didn’t help.

I think you have to hold your other arm up.

Weak battery? I know it is brand new, but maybe some bad batch of battery got into the fobs. Worth checking, I think.

I tried a new battery first. Didn’t change anything. I also just grabbed my other fob from Home, and it hasn’t changed.

Strange. Does it happen any place you park, or one particlular place?

I am finding this situation too. Not always, but sometimes the range is very short, like I have to be within reach of the door for the remote to lock the car.

It happens pretty much everywhere. Although I don’t really go that many other places with it (besides work and Home). But whenever I do, it does the same thing.

So I just noticed that the remote issue seems to happen when it’s plugged in.

Mine also inconsistently has poor range, plugged in or not. It might work better from behind the car though but I haven’t tested well. Once it worked about 200 feet away through glass which was impressive.
