Removal of engine cover

    Hey guys, I'm getting ready to plasti dip my engine cover to match the JDM covers. How easy is it to remove that cover. Lemme know, cheers!

    I thought that sucker is removed by pulling it straight up.

    No problem @TopRamen . Just left it straight up. There's no clip or screws to remove.

    I like it.
    Really makes the Hybrid Synergy Drive stand out, and looks sharp on it's own.

    The cover severs no purpose, I keep our engine clean, and fluid level's full. Because we drive the crap out of our car, and fast.

    On our Christmas trip to western Washington I did do the intake blocks this time. Damn it was cold and snowy in eastern OR and WA .

    I think the cover makes the engine bay look better. More modern.

    As a cover it might also keep some dirt off of the engine, and it also may retain just a little more heat, which may aid in heating the engine up that much faster.

    Cosmetic value is a value.

    I wouldn't automatically default to the idea that the cover serves no purpose.
    I think you're fine without. Engines have operated for years without plastic covers. But personally? I see little value in throwing it out. I mean how hard is it to remove and put back?
