Remove passenger seat for road trip - avoid airbag light? Override seat position sensor?

Hey guys, I'm driving about 2100 miles with my dog and would like to remove the passenger seat for the trip. Sounds like the hard part is preventing the air bag light from coming on and potentially deactivating the airbags. So far I have gathered that I need a 1/4w 2ohm resister in the airbag connector. I have read that there is another sensor that detects the seat position - Is there a way to override this one?
