Those of you who came by my house for the meetup may remember that my headlights were very cloudy. I thought they needed disassembly and cleaning from the inside.

I purchased and used the cleaning/polishing product below, followed the directions precisely, and the results are absolutely amazing. The headlights are crystal-clear and look like new. It is absolutely amazing.

    Looks great(y)!

I tried the turtle wax kit, but it hasn't lasted 7 months:(.

I'll give this a go as it's about $10 on Amazon:).

Were the directions anything more than:
    1. Wipe on lens
    2. Let dry.
    3. Buff to a lustrous shine.

I need to do the same to my headlights...

    Moisten and clean lens
Polish lens with green side of sponge (probably 1,000 grit sandpaper)
    Moisten again
Polish with grey side of sponge (probably 5,000 grit)
Wipe down with included microfiber cloth
    Put on gloves
Wipe special goop-covered cloth over lens EXACTLY ONCE, without getting on paint.
Let it dry for an hour
    Don't wash for 24 hours

So...pretty much the same process as any other headlight lens restorer.
    Thanks for the update.

interesting, sounds like some kind of resin applied at the end. maybe even UV filter? regular polishing lasts just months before UV eats the plastic.
please report back in 12 months.

Replacement with new, the regular is $209 a side. LED (our case): $537. Ain't that great.

HEADLAMP COMPONENTS for 2010 Toyota Prius | Toyota Parts

Our 2010 spends virtually all it's time in a garage, looks like new. We walk our dog down a street with a couple of elder nursing homes. The staff park along the street, and you can see as vehicles get on, the headlights getting progressively fogged.

Yup, it's UV alright. My wife's car is a garage queen with perfect lights after 10 years. My Prius is starting to cloud after 7 years.

The OP's kit is less than $10 and gets pretty good ink over at the Zon for those interested.....

Recent PM article on the subject.
The Best Headlight Restoration Kit | Headlight Renewal Kits

I hadn't realized that these kits are as cheap as they are, and will probably try one out on my daily driver (06 GMC) pretty soon which is starting to get cloudy eyed....

I believe the headlight restore kits are a temporary fix, the yellow haze will come back again and the only way to fix these headlight foggy issue is to replace the headlight itself.

So just to pimp it up before selling? That's too bad, but what I was thinking. And yeah, to replace our LED's, in retail Canadian dollars, with install labour and taxes, basically all-in: I'm thinking north of 2 grand.

It's too bad you can't just replace the shell somehow, maybe cut that price down.

I just thank god we're able to garage store ours.

    Ouch.
Please let me know if you ever find a deal on a pair of headlights.

Even at the salvage yards in Rancho Cordova are high:(.

But $10 every so often isn't too bad(y).

I think I would treat this issue like the saggy rear bumper: just wear it proudly, lol.
