Last week we got a serious heat wave here in the upper midwest! I noticed that a bunch of you living in Arizona, Texas, Florida.. ran into a problem with the release rubber melting during hotter weather. So I decided to change it before it got all nasty. I was hesitant to spend money on a new switch assembly. Turns out it's a simple cover change fix under 20 bucks. Saw it on amazon with the offset screwdriver included.

Toyota should have come up with this a long time ago. I'm glad this is out in the marketplace to replace all the defective rubber at minimal costs
