My turn! I'm at 148k miles. I was due for this. Plus after seeing everyone's filthy EGR, I knew mine would be the same. I purchased an all new Toyota EGR pipe, valve, and cooler. I followed the repair manual and also watched those @NutzAboutBolts videos. All very helpful, thank you! My car has been running fine but I have been noticing more vibrations coming from the engine and especially noticeable when the ICE kicks on/off. Now, it is super smooth and it feels like it did when it was new. So...score! While I had everything apart, I tackled a few more things: cleaned the intake manifold, throttle body, replaced the PCV valve, engine coolant again, and also the engine water pump. Everything back together and all was good! Here are some photos:

Good job and we’ll done (y).

    More data:).

    Some questions:
    • How much resistance did you find in the impeller for the water pump?
    • Did you see how it compared to the new water pump?
    • You bought a new cooler and egr valve from Toyota?
I have @The Critic ‘s cooler that I’ll post some pics of and clean with a pressure washer.

I am interested in what you find with regards to the engine water pump resistance of the impeller. Since the pumps are magnetically driven, you have no overt signs of failure like you do with a traditional water pump.

Good work and thank you for sharing ;).

We need more to do so to have the data available(y).

    Looks like Christmas!

It sounds like you were able to clean all 4 EGR ports in the intake manifold.

    I'm very happy for you!
Why did you decide to buy a new cooler versus cleaning the original one? Are you going to clean it and
    reinstall it next time?

    Excellent work!(y)(y)(y)

Does the car burn any oil?
How gooked up were the intake manifold EGR ports?

I guess I should have also asked if you did the engine thermostat as well since it is just opposite the water pump.

If not, I’d plan on doing it on the next round of coolant exchange.

Just for reference, 2 years ago now (Jan, 25, 2017), I bought the Aisin packaged pump (WPT-190) with the Toyota stamp ground off for $280.19 shipped via eBay. They appear to be trending for even a bit less, currently.

That’s one of the next pumps on the list and this will also be done soon:

After these preventative maintenance items, I should be ready for the @bisco challenge (y).

    Nice work!

Say do you mind posting the part numbers of the parts you ordered? Those might come in handy at some point.

I have a 143K Prius v (wagon) that is due for EGR service this spring. I bet my EGR cooler will look exactly the same as yours by that time! (y)

The egr cooler is the same as in your Prius ;).

I thought you had an extra lying around:whistle:?

If not, a pressure washer will make quick work of thebtask with the original parts(y).

Yep I do....the spare EGR is all nice and shiny due to the oxi clean soaks. (y)

However, it looks like they ordered a bunch of other new parts as well. Just thought if the part #'s were handy it might be good to throw them up here.

@Raytheeagle Water pump was in good shape by the looks of it. Resistance was not as good as new. If spinning the new, it would stop say in 1 second. If spinning the original pump, it would stop in 2.5 seconds-just as a comparison in non-tech words lol. I was running out of daylight under the carport so had to wait on the thermostat/water inlet tube. Next on the list is the inverter pump/coolant.

@mjoo All 4 intake ports were cleaned out with parts wash/brake cleaner and wiped clean. Installed new gaskets. I think I have a pic. There was oil sitting under the throttle as you can see in one picture.

@ASRDogman The biggest factor was time. Wasn't sure how long it was going to take to clean it all out. So purchased new Toyota parts from an online supplier from Japan (JP-carparts.com). I've used them numerous times for the Prius and our LS. Shipping is fast! I received a part faster than one ordered from same state. I will now have the time to clean them up and use next change out for sure.

@m.wynn Not burning oil. Intake was not so bad. Worst was the exit to the EGR tube.

@tankyuong Pump was $245 from Toyota dealer.
