I was wondering if anyone on here replaced their own hybrid battery and if so. How complicated was it?
Where did you purchase the replacement?

Generally it's best to replace with a brand new battery purchased directly from Toyota dealers. You can purchase used ones off wrecks, but those will either be a hit or a miss. You won't know what you're getting with used batteries.

It's not very complicated to replace it on your own, just watch some youtube videos and you'll get a good idea on what's involved.

Lots of people here have done so and, if you look for the countless threads about it, you'll read a variety of opinions about new vs used vs refurbished. I agree with @JC91006 that a new one is the best option, especially with a car only 8-9 years old.

Not all dealers will sell a battery without installing it themselves. If you decide to diy, it's not terribly hard to do. Just look at some of the many Youtube videos. Be aware, though that if the dealer installs it, the warranty on a new battery is three years. If you do it, it's only two years.

However, with the car still so new, are you positive the battery needs to be replaced? Sometimes it's just corroded sensor wires and stuff like that.
