Replacing hybrid battery in 2004 Prius in Boston area?

    The hybrid battery in my 2004 Prius is shot (battery charges and discharges quickly, battery cooling fan on constantly, warning lights, and an ODB2 dongle has codes saying there's a hybrid battery problem). Until that happened the car was running fine.

    I'm in the Boston area and was wondering if there are any recommendations on where/how to replace it. I assume dealers (a) can do it, but (b) are exorbitantly expensive. Are there any other options? And any recommendations on independent shops that can do it?

    not that i recall reading about. try googling hybrid shops. stay away from rebuilds if you can.

    kind of surprising in an area with so many hybrids

    greentecauto for rebuild...kinda late response I know. I'm in same boat: 2004 battery failure
