Reputable Salvage Yard Buyer DFW?

    Has anyone worked w/ salvage yard in my area (reasonable distance from Plano) who was fair and straightforward??

    My 2007 Prius (208k) has reached the end of the road *for me.* Self-inflicted wound -- tried to jump my dead 12v in the dark....well I THOUGHT I could tell which cord was red! Wrong.

    Details:
    It needs inverter assmbly ($1200 quote Hometown Hybrids), new rear tires, & a new 12v (died a while back! Hence my regular use of a handheld charger) It's all way more than I can afford...& more than it's resale value.

    Tried getting salvage quote online--they look VERY unrealistic. Quoting $1500 even if I marked body damage! (It really only has some paint damage) That's more than the est value if it were in working condition!! Assume this is just "bait" & I'd end up w/ a fraction.

    Hoping s/o can recommend a local yard ! (Or at least suggest what I might get.)

    If there is a better way to sell a non-drivable vehicle, I'm all ears!!!

    PS Yes, I def'ly would've gone ahead & fixed if my situation were different, but I'm hoping to move in 6 mos (>2k miles!) & wasn't planning to transport it anyway($$$ also more than value). I've already paid WAY too much to replace that master fuse $$ just so they could start the car and diagnose it! The add'l $ I'd have to put into it, plus the ins. premiums I'd save would go a long way to getting another car when I move. (I don't commute, so my Uber needs will be modest)

    Best to first confirm that the inverter is toast, did anyone write down the OBD2 codes (DTCs) once the vehicle was started again?

    Get a free obd2 scan from Matt at Texas Prius Battery Replacement - They are in DFW area, which doesn't involve 7 hours of round trip driving from Houston, tell them you jumped it wrong using a jump pack, and have since replaced a 'master fuse' (the 100A fuse?).

    If the inverter is bad, used ones may cost around 200. Travel time is 'way less' from DFW, or they may recommend someone else nearby.
    If using Peddle, you should be fine, assuming you like their offer, and you meet any vehicle requirements (Drives forward / backward, etc). They will send a transport truck to you, and if it doesn't work out, they'll leave without the vehicle, or you'll end up accepting less for it.
    Your vehicle could easily be worth 1500 or more, does it still have the OEM catalytic installed? (this part alone can be worth 1000+)
    Try listing it as a fixer (with pictures) on CL / OU / FMP. There may be some time wasters, but you'll know the good buyer(s) right away.

    Wouldn't surprise me if someone offers up to, or over 3k for it as is.

    Thank you...lots to investigate here. (CL/OU/FMP?? Sorry I'm not too savvy. Inherited this car and still not up to speed.)

    Re codes, POa09. This was (sadly) at the dealer. (at my usual shop's recommendation....not hybrid specialists).All I know about fuse is it is hard to get to...2 hrs of labor..>$300/hour! Never again!
