If you put all 16 ounces it, it should really clean everything up, really fast! :)
    JUST KIDDING!
I've never heard of it but there are several products out there for the same thing.
Try it and see how it works.

The container says it treats UP TO 160 gallons of fuel...ignore that 1 ounce/10 gallon thing.....sounds to me like you can add as much as you want since " up to " means anywhere from 1 gallon to 160 gallons. I think ASR was right and didn't even realize it!! Just dump it in!!

I would add: anything that implies that it cleans rings (ie, "Ring Cleaner" but is obviously for cleaning upper cylinder (rings are NOT upper cylinder...) is to be doubted. I like the BG line of products; more expensive, but dedicated for particular tasks:
Upper cylinder (injectors/valves) long term (10,000 miles): BG 44K
Upper cylinder (injectors/valves) short term (add at fill up, or every other fill up) CF5 (on the order of Techron, Lucas...)
Rings/crankcase flush (add just before draining for oil change, run ICE for 10 minutes in Maintenance Mode, drain and add new oil: EPR
Engine Oil Supplement (add with new oil at oil change). Supports oil over extended drain intervals: MOA

I've used these products on several cars (MANY miles) and they perform very well. All four available on eBay for 40-45 bucks. (NO affiliation). Can also get it at NAPA if you ask (it's under the counter...). ;)

I'm thinking something you use by removing the spark plugs pour directly into the cylinder, let soak about a day, periodically hand cranking the engine a revolution or two: that's going to do something. A few ounces in a tank of gas, not so much.

It's something you put into the CRANKCASE, not the fuel (of course...). Running the to-be-changed oil with the BG EPR in it for 10 minutes is what does the deed. Hot oil with EPR in it coming up to the rings from below. That's the ticket!

Well, I thought that was obvious. Glad you picked up on it.....but not in the humor way I had expected......

I'll try to do better next time...

cleans ring...that leads me to believe solvents may affect the engine's oil lubricity.

    garbage product.

Doesn't it instruct that you put it in for "x" amount of time and let it idle? Then CHANGE the oil?
So even if it does start to break down the oil, you're going to change it, so it wouldn't matter???

And I thought based on the title we were going to get tips on cleaning our wedding rings:p.

But I’ve used the BG Products suite before and they are great :).

Helped keep our 2010’s oil consumption at a quart every 5-6k miles after 120k miles;).

    Another vote for BG stuff(y).

    • EPR prior to draining (idle for 10-15 minutes in maintenance mode)
    • MOA or Extended Life MOA to keep the oil basic (the MOA is good for 5k and the extended is good for 10k)
    • 44k once a year (or 15k miles)
A good regimen and one I’ll continue on the Prime soon(y).

I've used the BG products as well. However, they are a bit expensive...but good stuff. (y)

There is also a thread about someone having success with 'motor flush' and 'cataclean'. I'm going to give them a shot next time I change the oil.

I use TC-W3 oil at 1 ounce per 5 gallons.
The motor purrs like a kitten. If I forget to add during a fill-up the engine is noticeably louder in a few miles esp. during hard acceleration.

No oil consumption @90k and counting.

Very cool. What’s your choice if engine oil and filter?

What was your oil consumption before you started adding TC-W3?
