I passed by the neighborhood gas station, and regular jumped up to $2.75 gallon! Ouch!
No $.01/.02 jumps anymore! Day before was $2.69. Costco at $2.40. It was at $2.30 around 6 mo. ago.

Based on our population, we have a high percentage of hybrid/EV vehicles in the State.
I see a lot of Leafs, Teslas, i3s., along with a lot of Gen. 2-3. There is a lot of free perks to buy an EV vehicle. Free meter parking, use of carpool lane with just driver, free charging stations, a few examples.

We tend to have the highest prices in the nation, being isolated, with no competition on gas prices.

What do you notice in your part of the country as far as gas prices rising?

Nice to see another Hawaii person on here. I haven't put gas since I got my P two and a half weeks ago. Good to know price has gone up. I guess I will take a detour to Sam's when I need to fill up.

I've been paying 2.899 this summer. I live near Yosemite National Park. I haven't checked prices in a couple of weeks. I wonder if we've been affected.

The price will fall again. Crude did this week. The price goes up, the price goes down, but averages pretty "cheap", at least for Prius sales. It's hard times here in oil country too. ;)

was $1.89 last week, haven't noticed since. but past increases haven't been high enough, or stable enough to affect car choices. i don't hear any reports of increases coming.

Prices are up a similar amount in California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia too. Dang those Hawaiian hurricanes! :)

It would be interesting to know hybrid/plug-in sales numbers for HI like we do for CA, and we could see who has bigger oversized % of hybrid sales/per person. CA really dropped off in Hybrid sales here in 2016 (like everyone else) but I had thought CA might buck the down trend due to the higher gaso prices. CA seems to be going SUV/CUV to the similar extent everyone else here in USA is.

OK smarty pants! :D I was referring to the OP's sudden price hike. BTW, just filled up the Prius a few minutes ago: $1.79 and 45.5mpg.

Average here is $2.73, low is $2.33.
That CDN 90¢ in Alberta is cheaper than the average price here in the Seattle area.

Yeah but that's the cheapest in country. Others here have posted prices below $2/gal. (Like Bisco).

$1.20/litre = US$3.44/gal... still more expensive than Hawaii!

Since gas is cheap, we are still winning because we still don't have to fill up as much like gas eating convential gas cars. If you own a truck, you still paying 50 a week while hybrids cost half what they pay and not at the pump every week. Still saving money. I imagine when gas prices could go up in the next 2-3 years, but far as the latest for this winter, I'm hearing gas prices going down to 1 buck.

Went up 4 cents since last Saturday at Sam's Club that I normally fill up at. Up to 2.19, I can deal with that.

Hm, I'll have to look again (don't pay much attention to fuel prices because I drive a Prius - it costs $20-25 to fill a half full tank regardless). I could swear it was $0.89/litre yesterday. In fact just checked the credit card receipt and that's what it cost. $22.50 ish to fill up with it a half tank down.

Happy to pay so little, sad to see so many out of work. :(

During ownership of the 2005 Prius, we've seen prices starting at 75¢/litre when we bought it, peaking at $1.44/litre in 2008 before the crunch and then back down to $1.05/litre and now it's at $1.26/litre.

Do recall that the 3rd Gen Prius was launched in 2009, right after the world was reeling in from the financial crisis so it's not like the Gen 3 had an easy start either. Gas was cheap and the 2010 model year had a very lengthy run before the 2011s arrived (probably to bolster numbers).

In the time I owned the 2010, I've saved enough to furnish an apartment or pay of 1/3rd of a kitchen reno or go on two family vacations. So would you rather use that money to pay for fuel on a larger vehicle? Or would you rather use that money elsewhere?
