    I've long wondered at the excess of brutality that suffuses the policing branch of our criminal justice apparatus, but never suspected it deliberately screens out intellect. Wow.

    I'm not surprised.

    BTW, if you really want to see a place where under-average intelligence is the norm, it's federal prison guards. Many (but not all) are psychotic as well. (I have no experience of any state prisons.)
