      Hello,

I have a 2010 3rd gen Prius with 57740kms on the odo. Gave my Prius for a detailing job including interior cleaning 2 days back..

Yesterday the 12 volt battery conked out as they have been keeping the door open to do the interiors....

The battery was charged in a battery shop and the vehicle switched on.... the battery seems to be 6 year old...

However the rollback indicator in the dash board is not going away....

And the interior lights and the door lights are not working either...

Any body knows what this is ....

Is it an indication to change the 12V battery...

      Any info is welcome please

      Thanks in advance

not sure, but at 6 years, i would either test it or change it, then proceed from there.

    Welcome. Your experience is typical.

The first thing to check is the dimmer wheel for the dash lights. It is on the lower dash to the left of the steering wheel. It may be turned all the way down. Turn it up. Just before it clicks is maximum brightness. When it clicks the dash lights will not dim at night.

The second thing to check is the light switch overhead by the rear view mirror. I suspect it is in the "off" position. The other positions are "always on", and "on when door is open".

Thanks dear friend ... took it to the dealership yesterday ... it's showing 11.8 only a day after full charging ... looks like it's time to replace it ...
