I just bought a prius and have a roof rack already. I have the yakima circle crossbars. Has anybody put one of these on a prius. What MPG can i expect with a roof rack. Im getting about 53 without one.

The biggest MPG hit comes with cargo loaded such as roof box cuts me as much as -10 MPG. Just the rack is probably 1-2 MPG but hard too see in data scatter. I have Saris rack which was good for Gen2 but not made anymore.

I have used a Rola style roof rack with bike attachements for years and found consistently 0.2 liters per 100km penalty when it's fitted. How that equates into US MPG I couldn't say. In Metric it goes from 5.1/100km to 5.3/100.

Drop in fuel efficiency is going depend a lot on how fast you're driving, highway vs city.
