Root cause of poor gas mileage

    I have a similar issue, no check light no codes but crappy mpg. Sparky boys looked dark tan so I changed them, got new coils still need to install them. Fresh air filter, tires are filled to 32psi.

    Something I have noticed is when the gas engine turned on the energy bar drops like a rock at the tiniest over the eco line... I am driving so gently that mother taresa looks like an abusive road racing granny.

    I’m taking in my 2010 Toyota Prius for an oil change with 189000 miles September 16, 2022. Oil consumption due to loose oil filter leaking oil.
    MPG still around 29. Not changing oil more frequently at 5,000 miles instead of 10,000 miles recommended in owners manual likely wore out engine pistons and rings.

    Steven’s Creek Toyota in San Jose, CA botched the oil change in 2017. Merced Toyota does stellar oil changes.
