Earl Woods swore and cursed a lot, which probably had an influence on Tiger's language off (and sometimes on) the course. Because Tiger has Asian blood and his nickname came from a Vietnamese friend of Earl's, some mistakenly thought he would be sympathetic to the plight of child laborers in Nike sweatshops. In hindsight, we now can see that Tiger as a person has always been self-centered and selfish. A sharp contrast against other golf greats like Arnie and Jack. So far, Rory has been universally described as a very polite and good kid. His risky decision to go to Haiti one week before the US Open shows that he can also put things in proper perspectives Tiger still has some years of good golf left in his him, but time will tell whether his body (and mind) will cooperate. Meanwhile, with a whole new crop of impressive young guns on the rise, it will only get more difficult for Tiger to catch Jack's Majors record. Rory's US Open win has signaled the end of the Tiger era, IMO.
Hot damn! Yani Tseng has won her fourth major title, the LPGA Championship (again!) this time by TEN strokes! Yani and Rory were classmates at the Nick Faldo Institute. The 22 year-olds now have five majors between them!
