Hi folks. I'm writing a feature story for the Sacramento Bee on why Prius owners are so loyal and dedicated to their cars. Would LOVE to chat with some Sacramento-area owers (Sac, Yolo, Placer, El Dorado, Yuba or Sutter county)!! Contact me by email with your phone number or call me at 916-321-1119. Hope to hear your story!! Thanks!

It was nice speaking with you Dan. If you require any other information or pictures of those hot models or 850HP 4x4 truck let me know. :D

In all seriousness, thank you for taking the time to speak with me and for doing the article.

I don't but I do have 2 other pictures. 1 with about 18 native bird nesting boxes in the trunk (for restoration work) and another with about $6,000 worth of fireworks (we ran a fireworks stand for my car club a few years ago). lol

F8L I just love that color in a car. Thats very close to what my Expedition was. Shame the big thing was only about 15mpg and was killing the bank accounts!

The article is in today's (7/18/08) Sacramento Bee in the Scene section. I thought there would be more pictures of Digby. Florence (the Bee photographer) must have taken 100 pictures of Digby, LOL.

I think some of the comments left on the online version are not so nice, as usual. I don't understand the haters, but that is ok, to each their own.

    Thanks for the article, Dan.

Nice article - I previously hadn't thought of the Prius as being similar to an orthopedic shoe.

Jason, your photos turned out great - however your car's white color emphasizes the orthopedic angle...

Agreed! They could have superimposed a Prius and then Toyota would REALLY have an issue trying to produce enough Prius'!

I just read through the ignorant comments on the article. It's as if every knuckledraggin' troll that has ever posted on PC has commented on the article.

It is a sad state of affairs to see how ignorant these people are considering they make up such a large percentage of our population. :(

I'm not going to bother signing up to correct them as it only fuels the fire inspired by their pathetic education and sense of economics and aesthetics. Someone even posted a link to the Dust to Dust article. Good job America! :usa2: Maybe we need to rethink how much we spend on education considering we rank lower than the 50% out of 168 countries in education expenditures vs GDP total.

If you look really closely at the second picture where the photographer asked me to get out of the car, you can see Dingo on the back seat.

Dingo is an introvert, she doesn't get that excited about getting her picture taken. Digby is an extrovert, the photographer got a bunch of pictures with Digby's nose about 4" away from the camera with a wide angle lens. One of those pictures would have been hilarious.

I am having trouble accessing the comments because our router is getting hit pretty hard at work right now, but I got the gist from the few comments I did see.

Kinda scary. We have to share the road (and environment) with those people.

If Toyota ever had trouble selling the Prius, I have an idea:

On the trim piece surrounding the rear license plate, on each side, provide a digital readout with the numbers at least 1.5 " high. One side would be labeled "Average" and would be the current tank average. The other side would be labeled "Now" (instantaneous takes up too much space) and of course would be the instantaneous FE. Even the most dense troglodyte would get the point.

One of my favorite things to do when someone in a big gas sucking SUV or quad cab pickup goes blowing past me to wait at the next red light is to try to guess what their instantaneous MPG is and then look over at my iMPG. I sometimes bust out laughing.

I replied on the Bee's comment page, but I gather my points will not get through to these ignorant people. Sad.
