(WNCN) — A tornado from the remnants of Tropical Storm Chantal caused damage in Lee County Sunday. The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado hit around 3 p.m. in Lee County at the Raleigh Executive Jetport, about six miles northeast of Sanford. The jetport at 700 Rod Sullivan Road sustained damage to at least two aircraft and two hangars, according to the National Weather Service. . . . Sad to say, NC got a bad reputation: Following Hurricane Helene, FEMA temporarily adjusted its hurricane recovery efforts in North Carolina due to threats against its workers. These threats, including reports of armed militia targeting FEMA personnel, led to a temporary suspension of door-to-door assistance and relocation of staff in some areas. . . . After Hurricane Helene, I'd stumbled across a YouTube video where the author all but declared war on FEMA. No doubt that idiot is helping recovery with his private arsenal. Bob Wilson
