Think about what happens to the numbers when considering the upcoming Prius C... which will be less expensive and more efficient.

And of course, there's also the benefit of cleaner emissions and reduced oil dependency from Prius.

One could argue asthetics as well. The Corolla looks silly with mismatched ground effects they have been bolting on that car for the last decade.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I've seen far too many ugly babies whose parents thought the child was beautiful. : p

It's not my cup of tea when it comes to styling but I do admit that the ground effects look like they were designed for the car unlike previous years. I guess I cannot bag on the car anymore. Thanks for changing my mind. :)

The Prius is no Vette either but we still love it. Sorry for my previous comments on the Corolla. I didn't mean to put down your choice of car. :)

Look at Wiki - 56% of oil reserves are in ... the Middle East - Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, fun places like that. Only 16% in N. America.

Lucky we have Canada. They're our #1 importer of crude oil. Every time I check, they're top of list.

Still, it's all nasty stuff. Best to ride a bicycle or walk when able.

    -------------
Corolla S up to 2008 had the nasty slapped on ground effects. Better since then.

I drove an Infiniti FX45 for 39 months and averaged a combined gas mileage between 17.4 - 17.7 per tank. I never broke even, it never penciled out.

If I were in California I think I would have stuck to riding my Trek Madone to work. Currently our rate is .147 cents a kwh, but we pay a flat rate for the garage so the car really works out. Where we are moving to is .109, but they have an EV incentive program to charge overnight for .0732. So I will be enrolling in that as soon as I get there. I personally am betting that gas is going to shoot through the roof at some point most likely through punitive taxation ala cigarette's if things keep heading the direction they are wit hthe budget. That is crazy talk though.

Sweet, if one can get the loan without Toyota increasing the price to compensate.
