I have an outstanding (last several years: wrong) prediction of $1/gal low point (some places) in February, when the price normally bottoms out. That prediction was based on the idea of oil glut. Maybe happens this year?

Before that I had correctly predicted $2 gaso when you guys thought I was pulling your leg, but that prediction I made good on.

I don't travel in winter and use vary little gas but in the summer I buy more lawnmower gas than for my cars. I have two mowers, one holds ten gallons and the other holds 11. lol

Usually, but despite having to discount their petroleum because of its unsuitability for use in the nearest refineries, and lack of pipelines for transport, US production has kept climbing.

Holy heck we are $1.99 at COSTCO, and we are expensive area with RFG, so I gotta think some areas cheaper areas of the USA must be $1.70 or lower?

I am finally looking possible on my $1 by Feb prediction, although about 3-4 years later than my first such prediction.

Around here we have yet to see below $2, maybe but prices bounced a bit after hitting the $2.14 low

Bought at $1.92 in So. Carolina a couple weeks back. Days later it was even lower. Even in Chicago (burbs), gas is less than $2.00 now.

It has entered my mind that the oil producers are trying to hurt the EV market in an attempt to save their butt.

It is an expensive way to do it. Passing a "hippie tax" on EVs is cheaper and more effective.

I hard that every citizen of Saudi Arabia gets a monthly check front the government and it comes from oil.
If oil prices are down they just pump more oil. What will happen to big oil as we know it if just about every car is an EV? What will happen to the petro $$$.

It's been pretty cheap in Minneapolis.. Around 2.10-2.25$ per gal. People have very short-term memory loss though driving around in their enormous gas hogs. :)

I assure you Tesla stock is performing better than oil stocks...

I saw on GasBuddy $1.74 at Sams Club in southern Virginia, versus $1.99 at Costco here, so that says reformulated gasoline is around maybe 22 cents more... we also have a little extra local gaso tax here.

I always thought it would be cool if GasBuddy subtracted out taxes and RFG impact, then we could see price map of real prices, that should be equal over entire USA, and if not, then we'd know who was getting ripped off.

Russia and OPEC have already agreed to production cuts for the next year.

Chicago area, now $1.90/gal. Wow! When it gets to $0.96, then I might not charge up anymore.

    Yes I will.

It doesn’t matter, that Sun Coast station down the street from the Orlando airport is still charging like $5.95 a gallon. But less then two blocks away there is a gas station with normal pricing.

They have been doing that for YEARS.
It is a testament to peoples sheer stupidity that they can even stay in business.
