Clogs aren't carbon build up though. Yes, ethanol can lead to clogs for the same reason with biodiesel, it is a better cleaner of the fuel system than the petro fuel. So any build up of gunk in the tank comes free and clogs stuff when you switch to ethanol or biodiesel. Once the fuel system and tank is cleaned out, clogging will no longer be a problem.

Well, I have not had time to deal with this.

And, this time of year, while it would be nice to have a working unit, it is not a giant priority. Depending on my work schedule. I may just try the PB Blaster method early this week and see what happens. I've had a big can of that and Freeze-Off around for a few years that I am not imagining I am going to need for anything else anytime soon.

Don't particularly want to put out $150-200 on a new unit right now.

If Freeze-Off is new to you....it's a CRC product. Same firm that makes MAF cleaner.

The single review on the AutoZone Web site is pretty funny if you hit the above link.

My dad and I shared a 5 gallon can of MMO! Can't remember how long that lasted.

    Let us know the result.

2-stoke engines "can be" abused so to say.

Seafoam might be better, yet you have a PB Blaster and if the PB fails you are already resigned to trashing this leaf blower. My concern with PB is its effects on internal oil seals, hence Sea Foam.

Not knowing the failure story: excess heat, lack of lubrication, failed connecting rod bearing, broken ring all could be suspect. Carbon build up, maybe.

Lastly disassembly should be super easy. Head gasket, base gasket, maybe exhaust and intake gaskets, light cylinder hone and a new ring(s). Again 2-stoke engines can be abused.

    Good luck let us know.

I flipped a can of Dust Off upside down to loosen the washing machine hoses through freezing.
Sounds like the Freeze Off, and other products like it, also includes something like Liquid Wrench in the mix. Know I'm wondering if pre-mixed A/C refrigerant and oil will work.
