Which battery? If the 12 volt, I think you'd be better off with a digital multimeter, and a digital load tester, for more in-depth. The car's menu will just dutifully report the "on" voltage, which doesn't means nothing.

See Post 20. The last screenshot shows the 12 volt battery in READY mode as being 14.0 V.
I imagine it would be lower in ACC mode. If so,it could be useful in detecting a bad 12 volt battery,

That's what I mean, even a near-dead battery will read 14.0 volts under those conditions. As my father-in-law was want to say: you've gotta have the right tools.

That may be why @kithmo originally used ACC mode. I was too lazy when I got to work & curious if the dance worked in READY mode.

The menu gives you real-time voltage readings from inside the car. I verified that the voltage was much closer to 12 volts in ACC mode.

Now the question is, what is the OP going to do with this secret treasure trove of information? Inquiring minds want to know...

I would try holding the "MENU" button and turn the lights on and off 3 times.
The "SETUP" button on ours opens a menu so your menu button may logically be the same.
