I'm going W A Y out on a limb and guessing that the coil you replaced came unplugged when the engine shifted forward during the hard braking.... maybe.
A COMPLETE tune-up on a Gen2 Prius is about: Air Filter - $14 Plugs (4) - $15 Coils (4) - $20 (used from recycler, no need to spend $75/ea on new!) So... under $100 in parts and if you know your way around a ratchet, free labor of about an hour's time.
