I agree!!! I like the shift lever. No buttons for me. I want Park to be engaged via the shift lever. I find it awkward to reach for the Park button rather than using the shifter. Since it's all by-wire, there's no chance of it's going into Park while in motion. Same as reverse. Maybe the Park button is my least favorite thing about the Prius.
You know...I hardly use the Park button. I only use it when I'm "parked" but want to keep the car on so that I can do something on the multi function display.
Likewise, in fact, I still have the cheap plastic sticker on my park button and it still looks good after almost 6 months of ownership!! I'd be suprised if I touch that button once a week. So, for me, keeping it off the shifter knob is a convenience in that it prevents me from accidently pushing the knob into the P mode when driving/shifting. --evan
