Should Gen1 Prius owners worry about Takata airbags?

    i think everyone should worry about them, the way takada is handling it. i hope nhtsa puts the screws to them.

    This article's pretty old and very possibly somebody already linked to it in a different thread, but it's among the more informative things I've seen:

    Automotive News article.

    It claims "the defective wafers were made between 2000 and 2002 at Takata factories in the U.S. and Mexico" which might explain why I see some Toyota models listed as affected, but not the Prius - maybe the models Toyota was building in North America?
