Just got a letter from my local TOYOTA offering me a VEHICLE SERVICE CONTRACT on my 2008 Prius.

Are these VEHICLE SERVICE CONTRACTS worth it??

I only have 75000 miles on my 2008 Prius.

A service contract is for regularly scheduled maintenance and should not be confused with an extended warranty. Frankly I believe they are simply designed to get you into the dealership more often so they will have more opportunities to either A) up sell you on servicing not covered by the contract or B) get you into another car.

How have you and your car gotten along without dealer servicing over the past 75k miles?

I stay away from the dealer.
I've serviced all my filters and oil changes since day one.

And have only purchased tires once at WALMART.
NO OTHER SERVICES DONE TO MY PRIUS SINCE I GOT IT NEW IN 2008

it's a simple matter of comparing a la carte service to the price of the contract and what it covers. generally, they are trying to lock you in. if you post their pricing, we can help you decide.

but if you stay away from the dealer, why the question?
