Should I wait for the 2010 Prius or get one now?

You can get more 'features' for the dollar buying a close-out, NHW20. But the ZVW30 has the 1.8L engine, improved transaxle, and important exhaust system enhancements. Either works perfectly fine and you have to decide which makes most sense for you and yours.

In our case, we replaced a 2001 Echo with a 2010 Prius and we're pretty happy.

For me, "better" is the enemy of "good enough". I can not justify upgrading a very reliable 3 years old car.

Traded 2002 for 2010 despite low miles. Starting to develop the "little problems", and we wanted more room of the hatchback. Now the Mrs. has the 2004 with NAV (she needs it). As she doesn't drive much, it makes sense to let the 2004 into gradual retirement w/ shorter trips, and I'm happy in the 2010 which will be my daily driver and our long trip car.

You got that right. That is my thinking and why I went with a 2009.

    Really?
    You sat in the hatch?
Was there much room in there?
