Side of the road tire repair

    Having no spare but a jack, tire plugs can be an option to repair a tire by the side of the road if the sidewall isn't affected. I find the pump and filler makes too much of a mess that needs to be cleaned at a cost.

    Project Farm tested four different tire plugs to see with one performed the best.



    I personally have a Dunaplug in my Model 3 and will add another one in my Prime.

    I've used this; for decades. If you place the plug without rubber cement, there's a 50/50 chance you'll get a very slow leak. Never had a leak when spreading rubber cement on the plug, before inserting it. You can buy small replacement rubber cement tubes in the bicycle section of the store. Do Not buy the big tubes; it'll harden up before you get a chance to use it.
