Hey guys and gals, I just recently purchased a 2014 Prius v and am trying to get it ready for some camping trips this summer! I've already ordered some rain guards for the side windows and now I'm trying to find some mesh inserts so that if I sleep in the car I can roll the windows down for ventilation and not have to worry about bugs. They would also help with privacy since the legal tint limit here in Alabama is 32%. I have found this website (carshades[dot]co[dot]uk) in the UK that produces what I'm looking for but they don't have the Prius v listed. They have a video on their website that I can't link to yet since I'm a newbie, but it shows exactly what I'm looking for. I've sent them a message asking if they ship to the US and can make a custom fit for the v but am waiting to hear back. So far, all I've been able to find in the US are the kind that stretch over the whole window/door, which doesn't seem like a great idea to me. So, does anyone know where I can find a similar mesh window insert for the Prius v? Thanks in advance!

If anyone is interested, here's the only set for the Prius v that I've been able to find. Not sure if I will order as since the cost $200 after shipping. I may just end up making some from scratch using no-see-um mesh and velcro strips.

Thanks. I wonder to what tear, rip, cut resistant they are to pets and thieves?

I wonder how they work with already tinted windows while driving during the day and night hours.

Any front visor for obviously when parked instead of using a standard visor?

I think $200 will be well spent instead of tinting your vehicle. Tinted vehicle to legal limits you will see and feel sun rays, this product will minimize rays while keeping visibility with or without tint, another plus is you can remove anytime. You will benefit more long distances drives during days and children in the car.

right now they are about $75 US but they show >09 Prius, not any model so assume it is standard Prius.

I think getting your car window tinted is the best solution for you because it can be done less time and if you want to remove it after some time you can DIY. The tinted window provides safety in many ways such as from thief, UV rays and also provides privacy.

I'm wanting to add a pair of the screens onto my car even with having my windows tinted due to humidity and heat with having a Pomeranian. She has her own fan as a result.

I have a couple different types on my rear windows and for the hatch. I am planning to get tint sometime, but have to find a good tint place that isn't exorbitant. Any recommendations?

Anyway, the screens are hard to fit the odd window shapes, so there's that, but they do the job they're intended to, although they don't look pretty.

I got a couple of different, non-specific types from Amazon, FWIS.

I had the Laser Shades in another car and loved them. I had tint and used these also and never removed them. They are held in with magnets on the outer frame. The fabric is thin but it should work fine to keep bugs out. I bought mine on Amazon.

Easy in, easy out and no worries about whether I’m legal or not.

Also, no worries about wet mesh on the outside of my window like some others I’ve seen that are installed over the door window frame leaving half outside the car.

Easily removable and have a storage bag.

    Satisfied customer.

Congratulations. They are on my wish list for much later, but in the meantime I have settled for two of the car screens slips that I got from Groupon and window curtains for added privacy for rainy times.

I just returned a set of screen slips from Amazon. They fit my back windows with the rain shades on but are huge on front windows. Plus, the fabric was not as soft and was of poor quality - came with a couple tiny snags in one of them.

The slip on one's do make a bit of added noise, but they do dry quickly. And one has to get out of one's car to put them on.

Please let me know, if you ever want to sell them.

I just want to make sure -

Toyota Prius V 5 Door Sun Blinds - 2011 Onwards Laser Shades
Is what you ordered, right? Did you get the half front windows? if so, any pics? The "Alpha" looks like my 2014 Prius V (same as you), but its UK so I don't want to get the model's confused.

Looks like I might order a pair!

This is what it looks like folded up. Very compact and easy to fold. Very smooth transaction. He's in UK so after currency conversion came to $205. I think worth it given the perfect fit and high quality material. Shipping took 1 week from UK. Thanks for bringing this one up. I was looking all over for this! Great for car camping with windows open to keep bugs out.

These seem pretty pricey to me. For $15 a pair on Amazon I got these screens. They're like nylon stockings that you pull over the entire window like a sock. I bought two sets and they work great. I mostly use them for car camping, I made a bunk (just a raised piece of plywood) for the back of my Prius V and liked it so much I've been using it for two years. I wanted to be able to get some air without bugs and found these screens. 1. They're easy to use and work well (I keep them in the door pockets so they are always handy. 2. Wild camping, even under the lighting outside rest stops they just look like tinted windows. You can't tell if the glass is up or down. 3. I left the rear left one on just to see how it would hold up at interstate speeds, it's got at least 1500 miles on it. Did great. 4. How it compares to tinted windows or the expensive shades? Don't know. I prefer not to drive with my vision obscured, but if the expensive ones are okay, than these might also be okay. (I just went on a long trip in the UK/Ireland and wished I'd brought them along.)

What holds them in place in the window? Do they sort of spring outwards or something?
