Anyone tried a fat32 1TB EXTERNAL? Like a WD passport that doesn't require a power supply?

I think the theoretical maximum is 2TB but I haven't tried it - keep in mind that FAT32 can't store individual files that are greater than 4GB in size and in general isn't really a great format to be using on larger drives. Its only real value these days is having the widest compatibility between operating systems and stand-alone devices.

Using a PNY 64GB which came formatted already as FAT 32, works great and its faster than my Sony Walkman 32G.
