Slight judder/wobble

    Hi all. I hope this post finds you all well. I am wondering if anyone can give me some advice on a little issue I am having. I have a slight judder that can be felt through the car when driving along just touching the accelerator. If I accelerate the judder completely stops. The car pulls well and the engine ticks over smooth. It’s only really at low speeds when slightly pressing on the accelerator. This only happens when the engine is running. Does not happen whilst running on electric. Also when you have the passenger window down and driving past a wall or something, while the juddering is happening you can slightly hear it. Like a faint thumping noise in rhythm with the juddering. Other than this car drives perfect. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

    It’s definitely not a bad tyre. It doesn’t happen in electric mode. It’s like a judder when your just slightly riding the accelerator but completely goes when you press down and accelerate. It only happens when the ICE is running. It feels exactly like when your wheels are out of balance but as I say goes when you give it some gas.

    Hi bisco. I have unplugged the egr valve and the problem has completely gone. I have it booked into garage for Tuesday. What could this be. And is it ok to drive with the egr unplugged until Tuesday?

    i'm no expert nick, i think it is okay to drive. the exhaust gas recirculation valve is a component of the pollution control system.
    it basically recycles what used to get released into the atmosphere from the crankcase. but toyota's implementation on gen 3 is poor, and fraught with clogging problems.
    i suggest searching here for egr circuit cleaning and etc., and also 'oil catch can'. there are many experts here, and those with diy experience.
    you can also watch @NutzAboutBolts how to youtube video. make sure the mechanic is familiar, or show him the pertinent info.
    toyota is not helpful in this matter, unfortunately.

    Hi guys. Just to let you all know it was a blocked EGR system. I have created a separate post to show the results. Drives like a new car now after a good clean out.
