    Help! Here's what I got...
    • 2007 Prius with smart key system (silver logo on the fob)
    • Just changed the battery on my key fob
    • The fob locks and unlocks the doors when I press the fob buttons
    • The fob in my pocket doesn't allow me to open doors using smart key sensors
    • The fob in my pocket doesn't allow me to start the car. I have to insert the fob.
    Here's what I already tried...
    • the "key" button under the steering wheel
Here's what I'm NOT gonna do...
    • Go to the dealer

test the health of your 12v battery

when it starts to get low, the range decreases as you describe

my '04 did the same exact thing. fob buttons worked, but not sks

Is this car new to you? Did sks ever work? Is the button under the dash labeled SKS?

Its not new. The SKS has worked for over two years now and only stopped when I replaced the fob battery.

So the battery test says I'm getting 13.9v out of my 12v battery. Seems weird eh?

13.9V is likely with the car READY? READY is the equivalent of the engine running, recharging the 12V battery. If this is what you did, you are measuring the Voltage as the 12V battery is getting recharged.

Is the FOB battery the correct one? Test the FOB battery to rule it out.

if you are saying you replaced the fob, that may be the issue.

Seen a few posts about people taking there fob apart and the tiny little rfid module falls out. It’s a tiny little black piece Attached to the inside of the fob body. If rfid is not in the remote it will act like your scenario.

His works in the slot, missing sks functions. RFID chip will affect our working in the slot only

It sounds like his sensors in the door and center console are not working.
