Do you know of any place in Northern Virginia that provides a fob/programming service?

If you have a AAA membership, they probably know locksmiths that will do it. And if you have a plus membership or higher, they will even pay a portion of the replacement fob

I notice that, as of today, ovni's eBay listings for key resetting, for sale of revirginized keys, and for key cutting by code, all now say "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available."

So does that mean ovni has exited the key resetting and code-cutting businesses?

Is there anybody else offering revirginized keys, or a revirginizing service, that others here trust and recommend?

No argument there! :) But is ovni not doing it any more, and if so, is anybody?

For Gen3 you can buy virgin/reset/reflashed fobs on Ebay. If the seller has good feedback you should be fine.

To program you'll still need Techstream or mini-vci, but worth the investment (at least Mini-VCI) if you want to know more about what your car is doing.

As of Jan 2017 I have not seen anyone able to reflash/virginize Gen2 fobs.

Best option is to buy new FOB and program via chicken dance. At least Gen2 you DON'T need Techstream/Mini VCI assuming you have a working fob and a virgin fob to program.

Hello Rude person's, I'm interested in getting a new smart key. With reference to your above post, would you please share web links to the following items from where you purchased them or from where they could be puchased online now:

    1. Toyota TIS Techstream software
    2. "mongoose" cable clone
    3. Brand New Smart Key Fob
    4. Key Insert Blade Blank

In this way, I could purchase the above and use them to build a new smart key. Thank you.

What do you consider a reasonable cost? I did mine a couple of times and now need a new one. In the past my ratio of getting 100% working was 1 out of every 2 keys :(. I had to go thru 4 to get 2 good ones. Not sure if what I was doing or the keys.
