Smoke and burning smell from dash

    HI guys just opened the car to get something out interior lights came on and then went dim after a few seconds there was a burning smell and smoke coming from pedal area currently waiting for AA check it out all light in the car are led bulbs and the fuse has not blown AA patrol came out to check so if we insert 10 amp fuse for dome lights smoke starts to come from dash area behind steering wheel if we remove the fuse smoke stops

    Another problem now the car thinks the doors are open and wont lock and when you put it in to drive it says shift to park

    doesn't sound safe. you're going to have to open things up and find the short. don't let a car fire spoil your day!

    Car is not bieing used until sorted i need to get an auto electrition to have a look at it

    Automotive electrics can be a bear to troubleshoot sometimes since the wires are often hidden. There's definitely a short in there somewhere, though. You might be able to spot a charred place.

    Fixed the problem door pudel light led were shorting out in the holder sorted out now also put a 7.5 amp fuse instead of a 10 amp

    Were some spray cleaners recently used? Or some new accessory plugged in?
