Will it work with gloves on?
The black seal is to reduce wind noise.
Could it be a tiny speaker/microphone, for when you go into a drive through, and the speaker quality is crap so the 15 year old kid can't understand you? Revenge against Maccas and Burger King!!!

Hey, that's great, no one pinched my door handles today!!

I hope it's the new keyless locking trigger (no more black buttons) and I hope they're on all 5 doors.

probably on drivers door only, and hatch possibly...

if we got lucky, passanger side got it as well...

... only Lexi and very expensive Toyota's (Land Cruiser) get it on all 5 doors.

OK to put all the speculation to rest...

Go to any Toyota store today and look at and play with the new Venza. This is the new way that Toyota is designing the SKS locking mechanism on the outside of the door handles.. It's more sylish according to them when describing the Venza ... and it's only on the front doors on the Venza.

The reflection on the upper part of the picture does not seem to match for example the 2 notches are missing and the very long horizontal ridge is on the reflection only

That's a good tip. It looks like a lot of things in the 2010 Prius have been used in either the Crown Sedan(Japan only) or the Venza.

I think I see the "Open/Close" switch we saw in Sneak peak #1 in a ceiling photo of the Venza for the moon roof.

The the Center column MFD we saw in Bossdowner's latest video and steering wheel controls look almost identical as well.

    Check that...that second photo is a Toyota Auris....the Venza's console/steering wheel aren't the same.

I wonder where that switch is. In the bossdowner commercial, I didn't see any part of the car with that shiny white surface.

They also don't show the ceiling in those videos...I looked. I bet it's very close in location to the Venza's.

In this shot, you can see the ceiling controls, but it looks gray in color and a matte finish.

Here is the close up of the color of the material...

But I don't want to steal the lightning from sneak 11. My guess for the handles is the keyless entry, as others have guessed.

That's cause the show car so far has had black interior with light grey on the ceiling and pillars. This means there'll be a beige option too.

Done.. it's the same handle as the one on the 2010 RX450h. It's an evolution of the SKS system. The only question now is whether it'll be all 5 doors or whether they're continuing to separate Lexus and Toyota models by the number of SKS-equipped doors.

Also, that must be the new, umm, grey (am I allowed to give the colour name away?) that may or may not replace Magnetic Grey. Keep in mind that Magnetic Grey is a lot darker. This is a very nice shade of silver/grey, almost like my Tomy Mazda MX-5.

It looks like the metal above the handle is curving away from the handle, so that's not actually a reflection of the handle at that part. Only higher up does the metal become relatively flat and the reflection of the handle can be seen.

I just realized something. If you turn the brightness of your computer monitor all the way, you can see so much more of the image. At first, it looked dark gray, now it's clearly silver, and it's clearly some type of handle. :D

Adjusting the image makes it easier to interpret. No color shift, just playing with exposure and brightness.

Thank you!!! Bill, this makes it much more clear. :)
Looking at the Bossdowner video at 1:17-1:18, I can see how this could be the forward-facing part of the door handle; IF I am correct, this is a driver-side door handle.
Something that continues to spark my curiosity is the fact that throughout the entire video, there is not one camera shot of the rear end of the vehicle. There is that little side shot with the boomerang, but there is no direct view of the rear end. Oh, what are they hiding???

ADMIN: can we get a count down clock to the Detroit Auto Show? :welcome:

I have captures as good a shot as you get of the back of the 2010 Prius from the Boss Downer videos.
