So I tinted my prius yesterday...

    Yeap, I had it tinted but its too dark! I got 5% all around. I'm ok with the 5% in the rear but am going to have the front doors and small windows redone with 20%. Anyway I just wanted to post pics so that you guys can see what the blizzard pearl looks like with 5% all around.

    LOL i know right! Well all my cars are tinted, 20% all around for the most part. I cant say that I have never been ticketed for tints but its rare, its been years. Also, I take my chances because once I get my plates I have one of those police "KMA" frames and they do help, its saved me from a couple of tickets throughout the years.

    It looks cool but I would be paranoid driving. If I had a drink 5 hours before driving, I would still be scared to get pulled over.

    Yes, its actually limo tint aka 5%. I know its too dark!! Im definitely having the front windows redone.

    I thought limos tinted to 10%. I stand corrected.

    50% would mean 50% of the light gets through, which means it wouldn't be that dark.

    In tint parlance, I think 5% means the percent that gets through.

    (not my cup of tea, but I'll restrain myself)

    looks real sharp....

    I did 35% all the way around on mine. with a 6" windshield strip.. looks nice, but I wish I went darker, but the VA and Dc will grab you for tint....

    had a dc cop stop my in the HHR which was 20% factory in the rear doors/windows so I did 20% on the front glass, the cops tint meter had dead batteries so he let me ride away... I was worried that ge'd be on the lookout for me. but he never stopped me again...

    looks good but yes 5 perecent is pretty dark for the front. I usually do 5% for the back half and 20% up front. it helps make the 20% look darker too.

    I am thinking of doing 20% on the fronts but have also thought about 35%. Do you happen to have a pic with 20% front and 5% rear? Thanks!

    No, I already have 5% in the rear and am going to leave it like that but am definitely going to retint the 2 front doors and the 2 front small windows just haven't decided if I want to go with 20% or 35%. Luckily both of the 2 front windows have defects so I have already talked to the tint shop and they are going to retint my 2 front doors at no charge so I just need to decide what percentage I want. 5% is definitely too dark for the front in my opinion.

    Oh, sorry. I misread. I thought you said 20% front and 35% rear. I'm thinking of going 35% all around this Thursday for my car. It gets so hot in there with no tints. :eek:

    Man if u went that dark here, you would be pulled over, searched, drug dog sniffed, handcuffed and probably anal probed. My fried had 35% all around and he's had to rip it off twice. He does his own tiny using precursors from eBay. Some cops just need an excuse to pull you over, tint is a legit excuse.
