had one of these go by me not too long ago.... it was rainy and he mashed the pedal which caused him to fish tail a bit, but sure enough lots of black smoke. Really showed me who was boss!

 

I'll bet he really put you in your place.

Agreed! My old honda fit was very hard to drive and shift smoothly(5spd) with its sensitive gas pedal. I actually noticed max acceleration in the fit was with the gas pedal 2/3 the way down. If you mashed it to the floor it was actually slower, weird.
Love the much more linear throttle in my prius even if it is a little slower overall, ha.

I asked "What's your mileage?"
"Bout 4. I like performance."
I think at that moment I was ripe for a Prius.

A co-worker tried to convince me that a Prius got lousy mileage by pointing to a YouTube video of a Prius racing a sports car at 100 MPH.

It's like Climate Change- some people cling to a disbelief.

 

The better message is "It costs me seven cents to go a mile."
