So the brake surge is still there, despite recall

    Correct me if I'm wrong. But I think everyone is trying to say that this is a reactive function of the brakes. I have notice this in anti lock braking systems. The brakes are saying "Danger Will Robinson!!!" and is more concerned with trying to correct or get control of what it sees as a potential loss of control situation first and formost. It's more of a safety and stopping issue at the time more so than worrying about regen until it thinks you have regained control. I too have noticed this in my commute to work when I have had to swerve a bit into a pothole for some reason.
