Which one will hold up better? My brother suggests that the cloth interior will be much better long term. We test drove a cloth interior one and the interior looked and felt like it would hold up well in the long run. Didn't really check out the softex interior too much.

The other option is to get cloth but add Clazzio leather seats for about $250-$400. I find the covers nicer than cloth and better looking than Softex.

Only get the softex if you want all the other options the car comes with. Leather can be added to any model for $250-$400 DIY or approx. $1,200 at the dealer for Katzkin brand.

I think the Softex will hold up better than the cloth. I've had both.

Oops, my point was you can get a Model Three to save money and add Clazzio seat covers for Christmas. ;)

I would spring for the solar roof though. It is really nice in this area during the summer plus it looks sweet.

What about cleaning soft tex? I have had mine almost a year without any stains or spills, but I know that day is coming. What do you use to clean them, and how effective is it?

No issues here so far with Softex. Very comfy throughout the winter months, much more so than the '79 Impala vinyl was in the winter! The dark grey doesn't show anything, which is fortunate, picking up my son regularly after working in a horse barn...

What about Softex in the heat of summer?

So far so good.. does get warm but I think it's because mines is black. So far got sun block on there and it cleaned off easily. A few minor spills and stain but with a little water, wiped off easily.

Can't go back to cloth anymore.. I've had leather since the 90's!

Agree! It does get hot, but not as much as leather. Besides with the window tints it gets less hot :)

No problems when it was in the 80s here... I love the Softex.
